“Face First Films”
Edit This – HD Short Film from Jeff Reilly on Vimeo.
It is not often that I name drop. Yes I have unjammed redemption tickets on a Skee Ball machine for Mick Foley and his son. I have sat down and have shared a mediocre slice of pizza with Captain Lou Albano. One time I used an ATM machine side by side with Derek Jeter. I shook the hands of and made small talk with fellow atheists Penn & Teller. I even once said hello to that Bob Saget replacement guy, Tom Bergeron. It is not often however that I meet someone who is destined to be famous. That person is Jeff Reilly.
The first time I met Jeff he was wearing a blue and green thick striped Frederick Krueger knockoff sweater accompanied by his khaki Old Navy cargo shorts and a pair of tattered brown sandals. As I stood on my first day along with the two other interns trembling in the uniquely decorated lobby which was dominated by a horrificly grotesque horsey painting, I coughed. It was only then that he stopped typing and lifted his head up above the severely outdated glass CRT monitor to take a minute and say hello. Yes, some of that probably makes no sense.
In all seriousness when it comes to filmmaking, you don’t get better than this guy. He is hands down the best editor that I know, which can probably be attributed back to a netflix rental history that tops Tom’s myspace friend count. He is also a very gifted filmmaker, and I know this first hand. He has written, produced, directed, and edited two short films which I have had the pleausre of starring in. This is the first one. The second, entitled “Okay Great”, is coming soon. You can read more about him on his official blog, Face First Films.
